What changed
- One menu, the same on every page. Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 3 months, Last 12 months and All time; then This month, Last month, This year and Last year; then Custom range…, which opens the calendar with a way back. It no longer scrolls, and every page shows the same rows in the same order.
- Rows with no data are greyed, with the reason. Search Console reports each day about two days late, so the Search page greys Today and Yesterday; journeys are built overnight, so Journeys greys Today. A range that runs past a page's data says so on the button: "Last 12 months · since 26 Aug".
- One memory. Pick a view on any page and every page opens on it, on every site. A custom range, or one moved with the arrows, follows you until you close the tab. A shared link opens on its own range without changing yours.
- The closest view. When a page has no data for your view, it shows the closest one that does and names it on the button — Today on the Search page shows "24 Sep · latest day" — and your view stays as you left it.
- All time, from a page's first day of data to its newest. Past a year, the chart switches to weekly, then monthly points.
- Realtime is the last five minutes, for the live count and the realtime view alike, so the two always agree. The live count is smaller — a dot and a number, grey at zero — and on the Visitors page it sits beside the view switcher, in place of the page's own live windows.
- Shared dashboards show the same twelve rows; Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days and Last 30 days are available, and the rest are greyed.
- The top bar reads "Updated 6 seconds ago" — when the page last refreshed.
Removed from the menu: Last 1 hour, Last 24 hours, Last 28 days, Last 6 months, Last 16 months, Last week, Last quarter, Week to date and Quarter to date. Links that carry them still open, with their dates on the button.
Why
Every page had grown its own menu — seven different menus across eight pages, some of them offering rows the page could not answer. Uptime and Pages showed whole days under "Last 1 hour"; Journeys offered Today, which is always empty; and each page remembered a different view, so the view you picked on one page was not the view you found on the next.
