What changed
- Import history from four tools. Plausible, Umami, Simple Analytics and Matomo can each backfill the days before Pulse started measuring your site, from that tool's own export.
- Plausible, Umami and Simple Analytics work from a file you export and upload. It's read in your browser: the export file never reaches Pulse, only the daily totals it produces.
- Matomo connects directly: give Pulse your instance's address and a view-only token, and Pulse pulls the history itself.
- One import per site, reaching back as far as your plan's retention allows. Visitors, visits and pageviews merge into your existing charts; bounce rate and visit duration stay Pulse's own, since every tool defines them differently.
- Imported days show up on the dashboard, in share links, in the public API and in MCP, each marked so you can tell them from a day Pulse measured itself.
Importing from Google Analytics is not available yet.
Why
Everyone who moves to Pulse leaves a history behind in whatever they used before. Most of that history can now come with them, instead of staying locked in a tool they're trying to stop paying for.
