What changed
- Exact visitors for any period up to 31 days. The number of visitors is now an exact count of distinct people wherever you read it: the dashboard and its comparison with the previous period, the full list behind every card, Peak Hours, share links, the public API, MCP, exports and growth reports. Before, finished days were combined from an estimate that was typically within about 1% of the true count.
- Every surface agrees. The dashboard, the API and your exports now read the same counts, and the comparison with the previous period compares two exact numbers instead of an exact one with an estimate.
- Past periods may shift slightly. A range you looked at before can show a visitor count that differs by a fraction of a percent from what you saw then. The new number is the exact one.
- Today can trail by up to a minute on a view nobody has opened recently. Finished days are never more than a few minutes behind.
A few views still combine estimates for now: ranges longer than 31 days, ranges that include imported history, the Pages table, UTM breakdowns, and exported lists longer than 250 rows.
Why
A visitor count you can't reproduce is a number you can't trust. Counting every visitor exactly, on every surface, means the figure on your dashboard, in your export and in your API client is the same figure, and it's the right one.
See Visitors for how a visitor is counted, and the API, MCP and data export pages for each surface.
